This summer a team was in Nigeria, at the University of Ibadan, to participate in the 1st Ibadan Summer School for Genomics and Bioinformatics, as instructors helping to build genomics skills in Africa. The week long summer school was attended by over 60 students from all over Nigeria. The visit was also the occasion to develop the ongoing research collaboration with the department of Microbiology funded by the CNRS “Monitoring and Controlling Antibiotic Resistance in Low and Middle-Income Countries”, and the memorandum of understanding signed between AMU and UI. While we were there the team gave several plenary lectures at the Nigeria-French Science day, and at Bowen University.
