Since 2014, the LISM is hosting students each year during summer for the iGEM competition (see more here).
We are pleased to welcome 6 students in the iGEM lab, a special room dedicated for the iGEM competition and furnished by Aix-Marseille Université.
Students are under supervision of Laetitia Houot from team Molecular transport accross the bacterial cell enveloppe, Valérie Prima and James Sturgis from team Dynamics and assembly of membrane proteins.
iGEM 2021 goal
Detect and target specifically mosquito that are carrying the virus causing Dengue fever.
iGEM 2021 strategy
Ingeneer a bacteria from the mosquito microbiota to kill the insect.
